2 - Whose products do we offer?

Insurance

We offer products from a range of insurers for life assurance, critical illness cover, income protection, general insurance (including buildings and contents insurance).

 

Mortgages

We offer mortgages from the whole of market.

 

3 - Which service will we provide you with?

Insurance

We will advise and make a recommendation for you after we have assessed your needs for life assurance, critical illness cover, income protection, general insurance (including buildings and contents insurance).

 

Mortgages

We will advise and make a recommendation for you on mortgages after we have assessed your needs.

 

4 - What will you have to pay us for our services?

Insurance

No fee for life assurance, critical illness cover, income protection, general insurance (including buildings and contents insurance).

You will receive a quotation which will tell you about any other fees relating to any particular insurance policy.

 

Mortgages

A fee of £450 or 0.35% of the loan amount (whichever is greater) payable on completion of the mortgage. For example on a mortgage of £100,000 we will charge a fee of £450. We will also be paid commission from the lender/company.

You will receive a key facts illustration when considering a particular mortgage which will tell you about any fees relating to it.

 

Refund of fees

If we charge you a fee, and your mortgage does not go ahead, you will receive no refund if you decide not to proceed.

 

5 - Who regulates us?

Stuart Miles T/A Financialsmiles is an appointed representative of Tavistock Financial Ltd, Andoversford Business Park, Andoversford, Glos GL54 4LB which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Tavistock Financial Ltd’s FCA Register number is 188153.

 

Financialsmiles permitted business is advising and arranging on investments, insurance and regulated mortgages.

6 - What to do if you have a complaint

7 - Are we covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)?

We subscribe to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim.

 

Investment

 

Most types of investment business are covered for 100% of the first £50,000.

 

Insurance

 

Insurance advising and arranging is covered for 90% of the claim with no upper limit.

 

Home finance products mortgages and home purchase plans

 

Advising on or arranging house purchase finance is covered for 100% of £50,000.
